Inspired by the luciferin glow chemical from the Appalachian fireflies, we have developed the second brightest glow polish in the world (second only to our own Vegan Glow Worm Extract). By day, it's a matte baby pink, but turn down the lights and it emits a radioactive orange glow*. Sunlight, UV light, or most white phone torches will charge it up within a second. It will glow brightly at first, being easily visible in many lit rooms, but if it's out of the light it will fade to a pale glow that's still easily visible in a pitch black room for over 12 hours.

How to use
NAIL PREP: While Vegan Firefly Extract will stick to bare nails, it can chip easily – we really recommend a base coat with this polish for perfect adhesion. For guaranteed best results use our BASIS base coat.
APPLICATION: Shake the bottle hard until you can hear the mixing balls rattling inside, then shake for a further minute before application. The Coverage is around 75%, so you will want to apply at least two coats, but the more coats, the more glow.
PROTECTION: Vegan firefly extract is a matte finish polish, so picks up marks quite easily. For a deep glossy hard-wearing finish, we'd recommend a layer of our own GLOSS LACQUER on top.

First of all - the colour is nowhere near the colour shown in the picture above. The actual colour is much closer to a coral orangey/pink. I don’t mind this as I actually prefer brighter colours but would say it’s misleading if you’re expecting what is shown on this page. Picture included for more realistic colour.
I was really excited to try this so I have put it on this morning and the texture is awful. Firstly it dries so quickly that as you’re working it’s setting and makes application really hard to do well. Secondly the texture of the stuff itself is really grainy (not sure if this is due to the speed of the drying- it looks okay in the bottle, but when you start to apply it becomes really weird). The end effect is really strange looking - like a combination of matte/shiny even with a shiny topcoat (which it seemed to absorb). Due to the above trying to do more coats was really hard so I just gave up as it was very thick to work with anyway.
It looks even worse when you check out the glow as nothing is hidden then! It shows up all the weird texture stuff etc - unlikely to use again due to this. I might try using it for the odd dot or detail but not as a full nail. Should’ve listened to the other review talking about the texture of it!
Delivery was fast, the packaging is nice and the in the bottle it glows really well. I expected it to be a bit thicker than other nail varnish, but this is so incredibly thick and clumpy, its actually congealed and nearly solidified all up the applicator, so when I accidentally scraped that part against the bottle neck I ended up with big chunks in the bottle. I couldn't even get a thin first coat, I attempted a second over the top but it just looks horrendous. It reminds me of putting old tip ex on my nails in school. I'm not new to doing my own nails, I don't understand how other people have good results with this! I'm very disappointed as I wanted this for ages, I wouldn't have bought it if I'd known how thick and lumpy it would be. I'm going to have to buy thinner to see if I can make it useable.
Hi there, we're sorry your order has arrived like this.
We were concerned this was a faulty batch, but we've today checked the rest of the batch (which was mixed at the same time) and it's all super smooth, and not at all like you've mentioned here.
We can only assume the bottle wasn't closed properly and it's dried out around the top, or else there was a small air leak somewhere in the lid.

Bought this for my pal so she can look badass whilst drumming, she loved it and how it's the "most fanciest nail polish I've ever gotten." The packaging is so cool, I'd love it if sustainable refills were an option one day. :)
